The Bunny did come after all

You'll remember this post about not having an Easter Bunny this year but alas he did show up.  I know I'm a few days late posting but I do have 4 kids after all and O-dog just went back to school today after having a week off...

Here are a few snapshots of our day:

we started off with their baskets and a small egg hunt in the house.  Binney with her glowing/spinning egg thing.

all his loot

a meeting of the minds to see who got what

Peanut cracking the cascarones on her own head, probably bad luck or something

now O-dog is going to take over the cracking for her

Binney didn't want to crack hers

this is why we hid these outside

the best I could do at a group photo, nobody wanted to look at me of course

Next year we'll have to amp up the hiding cause they found the loot too fast this year.  Hope everyone had a great day!

Three months

Sweet Pea is three months old!  She is doing amazing minus the fact that she doesn't really want anything to do with daddy.  She will tolerated him for a few minutes at a time and then she wants back to mama, what can I say she's with me 99% of the time.  She is sleeping really good, goes down around 7:30, eats around 2-3am and then sleeps again until 8-9ish (on non-school days).  She is super alert, loves watching her brother/sisters play and would rather be up with us than sleeping during the day.  She talks a ton and is even starting to laugh which makes all the sleepless nights worth it. Since she won't really stay home with daddy she is my sidekick and comes everywhere with me, she's a great shopping buddy and hardly makes a peep in the stores.

Namaste

I thought it would be a good idea to attempt some yoga the other day with all 3 kids.  I got everyone out a mat and turned on one of my videos, they had a great time but took over my mat and I didn't get much done.  O-dog and Binney are actually pretty good at following along and can do most of the easier poses.

O right on with the video

Cascarones

We are all ready for Easter with a few new traditions:

Many cultures have a tradition of colored eggs, especially around Easter. In Mexico it's common to see colored eggs thrown at fiestas during carnaval, just before lent. They're not hard boiled like the eggs in the US Easter egg tradition. Instead they're eggs that have been hollowed out and have a surprise filling - called cascarones. It's a tradition that's said to originate in Italy, when men would toss hollow eggs filled with perfume at women they were attracted to. In Mexico, you can still see this behavior among young men and women.

Plants

Here are our veggies/herbs this week:

Peanut with her basil

O's cucumbers

Fin's tomatoes

my basil (not doing so well)

Kev's green onions

Daddy and O are working on building a raised planter box this weekend.  Hopefully things will really start to grow once they're transfered.

St Thomas version of Fiesta

We went to O-dogs school last night for their Fiesta celebration, the kids had a blast (minus Sweet Pea).  They had all kinds of carnival-type games run by the teachers/older kids and at each game you would get to pick a prize (more junk for our house).  We didn't last too long, Sweet Pea started to melt down due to some loud tejano music and general overstimulation.  They used up all their tickets, won a lot of stuff junk and then we headed to get some Chick-fil-a for dinner, a perfect night in their eyes.

Fiesta

It's Fiesta time here in San Antonio, a 10 day party that you can read more about here.  We got all our necessary Fiesta garb from O-dog's school today.  We are going to his school celebration tonight and now everyone is all ready!

Fiesta is all about bright colors, parades, food & fun.  He had to wear a bright colored shirt to school today and then he got his chili pepper necklace, the girls got their flower crowns.  O-dog got this pop from the King and Queen of the school celebration, he's never had a pop this big and was beside himself when he got home.

Here is O-dog's explanation of Fiesta for your viewing pleasure.

I'm in trouble

My girls LOVE getting their hair cut, nails painted and wearing chapstick (they won't get their hands on lipstick for a long time).  I'm Daddy is in big trouble when they get older.

Fin went first, this is pre-haircut hair

enjoying her shampoo, who doesn't?

Peanut's turn, look at that smile

Sweet Pea watching her big sisters

Now if we could only get O-dog to be somewhat cooperative while getting his haircut, maybe when he's a teenager.  He insisted we only go to the hairdresser while he was in school even though he knew he didn't need a haircut, he won't even consider going near the place.

Responsibility

A big brother of 3 sisters has a lot of responsibility and he loves every minute of it!
