Goat farm {year 3}

For the 3rd year in a row we were able to visit a goat farm close to our house with some friends.  I think it's one of the girls favorite things to do each year.  Who wouldn't want to run around on a ranch with baby goats all around to feed and play with?

Fin feeding her baby goat

Keira feeding hers

Norah getting help feeding hers

She loved the babies, maybe cause they're just her size

See that mama goat off to the right, that's what I feel like on a daily basis

Oh and this baby goat is very similar to a baby I know, should you be doing that?

Lets all climb the tree together

See what I mean about that baby that probably shouldn't be climbing stuff?

Maybe I'm really raising baby goats?

Pre-K graduation

Keira and Finley graduated pre-k last week and by graduated I mean a cap and gown and diploma and everything.

It was such a cute ceremony and the kids felt like such big shots, a great way to send them off to kindergarten (tear)...

New look

I've finally got around to getting a new/updated look for the blog, what do you think?

Since most of you have probably never seen our house in San Antonio I figured I'd post our listing while it's still available, our house

We sold it in 2 days, yup 2 whole days, can you believe it?  I LOVE this house so much and am so sad to have to let it go (is it bad that I was secretly hoping it wouldn't sell?).  I'm sure whomever bought it will love it as much as we do, I hope...

I think God secretly knew I couldn't keep up the pace of showing the house by myself with four kids so he gave me a break (thank you).

Five

I can't actually believe I'm saying this but the girls turned 5 last week, what??  I feel like I was just pregnant with them yesterday, how does that happen?

We were lucky that Kev was here and got to spend their actual birthday with them, a special treat.  Instead of having a party (I'm just not a big fan, mean I know) we decided to do a few fun things with them that they don't usually get to do.

They got to get their toes painted and then we went out to Sushi (their idea)

Fin requested a butterfly

 Keira got a lady bug

We had a small ice cream cake (per their request since I'd sent cupcakes to school the day before)

We took the 3 girls to Sea World as a special treat, this is their favorite show Azul

They are both so easy going and would have been happy with anything on their birthday, they never even asked once about having a party.

Keira is our little daredevil, she is especially agile and can do most things easier than her brother, she is very athletically inclined.  She is very girlie and loves fashion, jewelry, dresses and anything sparkly.  She loves art especially coloring/painting/drawing/crafts.  I think she may be a fashion designer someday...  Oh and she's dying to get ears pierced (daddy??)

Fin is my most laid back child, she's easy going and hardly every complains.  She loves watching movies and is always the one that gets to pick them out.  She loves animals big and small and is a very compassionate soul.  She is the fastest runner in the family and has recently starting riding her bike without training wheels which she's very proud about.  She is much more cautious than her sister and it doesn't seem to bother her when she can't keep up.

They really are each others best friends and although they fight they are a united front against anybody trying to mess with them.  I think their dispositions are so different that they actually compliment each other perfectly, a match made in heaven.

Happy 5th Birthday girls!

Hello???

Anybody out there?  So I've been missing since february, let's just say life has gotten majorly in the way of me keeping up with this blog.  I hate that I'm so far behind, mainly because this is kinda like my own digital journal for the kids.

We've had so much going on here and I've been a single mom since January.  We've put our house on the market, taken it off and put it back on. Trying to sell a house with four kids is nothing short of a miracle, trust me.

Kev has basically crisscrossed the country and still has another very long leg ahead of him.  We've had our world turned upside down and things aren't going exactly as planned but we're rolling with the punches and making the best of opportunities that have come our way.

I'm making it a priority to keep up with this blog at least twice a week, if only a few pictures I'm determined not to fall off the blogosphere again, fingers crossed.

Just for fun, here are my crazy girls

we're back {from the dark side}

We've had a tough few weeks here on the home front, sickness has hit in a big way.  Both O and Fin had strep and not even a few days into their antibiotic treatment we got hit with a stomach bug, a really bad stomach bug.  O started throwing up on a saturday night and wasn't better until tuesday afternoon when I finally breathed a sigh of relief.  Oh, that was short lived, because as soon as the girls got home from school Keira said her belly hurt and immediately started throwing up. I knew we were doomed at that point, Fin and Norah then got it on wednesday.  I had 3 sick kids at once, only one that could manage to throw up into some sort of container, lets just say things got messy.  It finally hit me on friday afternoon and it was the worst feeling knowing I could barely take care of my own kids and my hubby was not around to help.  All three big kids were a huge help while I was sick, it's like they knew how bad it was.  I was finally better by monday and things started to get back to normal, I was mortified at how dirty my house was but we all survived so that the important part.  While the throwing up part only last about 24hrs the lethargy/complete lack of energy/nausea lasted about another 2 days.  In total we didn't leave the house for 10 days and I thought I had lost my mind.  Here are a few photos I snapped with my phone during the week.

100 day project

Next wednesday is O's 100th day of school, a big deal in kinder.  We had to make a shirt for him to wear with 100 of something on it.  We started brainstorming and the ideas he came up with were: bb's, bullets, jets, straws, stickers.  After explaining to him why bb's or bullets weren't appropriate we came up with the idea of pennies.  He was reluctant at first since they were in fact his pennies from his piggy bank but when he realized it was only $1 he was on board.  He counted out his 100 pennies and was not satisfied with the dirty ones so we googled how to clean a penny and got to work.  First we soaked them in a vinegar/salt solution for 10mins, rinsed with warm water and checked to see how clean they'd come.  Still not satisfied we decided to try rubbing each penny with baking soda and sure enough they came pretty clean.

He then made sure we in fact had 100 shiny pennies, 10 groups of 10.

We then hot glued the pennies onto a t-shirt.  I suggested a big star shape but he insisted on the 100 theme, he's the boss.  We'll see how well the shirt stands up when he has to wear it next wednesday.

Christmas trees

I pinned this on pinterest a while ago and decided to try it this christmas.  We've made gingerbread houses a few times and they're kinda yuck in my opinion, I mean how long have then been in that box?  This is SO much easier and they came out so cute, of course they were eaten within a few days.  All you need are ice cream cones, icing and whatever decorations you can find.  The kids ask to make them several times during the holidays and they were so easy they could manage all by themselves.
