Happy 4th Birthday girls!

Keira and Finley turned 4 a few weeks ago, totally crazy to me!  We had several cakes and parties for them, their real birthday/school birthday/birthday while Noni and Popi were here.  We keep things low key and just family and they don't seem to mind at all.  I know the day is coming when they will ask for a real party so until then we're enjoying the quiet ones.

They are getting so big and have such different personalities although they are absolutely the best of friends.  Keira loves anything girlie especially hair, clothes and jewelry.  She is amazingly athletic and agile and while wearing a princess dress can usually out do her brother in most physical activity.  Finley is super laid back and generally goes with the flow.  She loves all animals and often pretends to be a kitty cat.  She can outrun anyone in the neighborhood, I think she's gonna be a cross country star.  She may be quiet but will stand up for her brother or sisters in a fight any day, nobody wants to mess with the Welch kids in our hood.  We love you girls!

Homemade pinata

During fiesta week here in San Antonio O made this homemade pinata at school.  Such a great idea and so easy, what kid doesn't love a pinata.  It was simply a white lunch sac some crepe paper and a string.  It actually held up pretty well to the kids whacking it, much easier than a real pinata.

Bird mansion

Here is the final product hanging on our tree in the front yard, handmade from scratch by O-dog.  We must have the best birdhouse in all of Texas!

A lost tooth

While eating corn on the cob during Noni and Popi's visit last week O lost his first tooth.  Not sure that "lost" is the correct term since he actually yanked it out of his mouth.  It wasn't loose for very long but knowing the excitement a little boy has for loosing his first tooth I'm sure he helped it along the way various times each day.  Anyway here he is

He left it in his tooth fairy pillow that night and was surprised with a $5 in the morning, hope that's the going rate now a days.

And so it begins

While putting laundry away the other day I came across this sign outside of O's door.

I can't say I blame the poor guy, he has no real personal space.  He was playing legos and didn't want the girls or Norah to come in and wreck them, too bad the girls can't read.
