Happy 2nd Birthday Girls

The girls turned 2 yesterday, it feels like I was just pregnant with them.  I sang Happy Birthday as soon as I got them from their cribs and they thought it was so funny.  I took them to a park while O was at school and they had a blast (we usually don't go without O so this was a treat for them).  They then got an ice cream cake after dinner, took a few bites and then asked for an orange instead....

Having twins has been so much fun, people often ask how I do it but it's actually easier than having just one I think.  Having twin girls is even better, I hope they will be the best of friends when the grow up.  They have such different personalities but I don't think one would ever want to be without the other.  If one goes in timeout the other tries to sneak in to comfort her (or bring in toys to pass the time).  K is much more outgoing and daring but has to be close to mommy.   F is much more reserved and methodical but don't get her mad!  I know they are going to give us a run for our money as they get older but hopefully they will keep each other on the right track.  We love you girls, mommy daddy and brother

Bikes

We live in an awesome neighborhood here in VA, and the cul-de-sac in front of the house if perfect for the kids to ride bikes in.  Obviously the girls need real bikes, this tricycle is a bit small for them.  We got them new ones for their birthday tomorrow.

Beach fun

6 kids under 4 at the beach is just another day for us here in VA.  Our friends also have a set of twins and an older son, we have playdates as much as possible and we are used to the chaos.  They just moved to the beach at Ft Monroe so we have been spending a lot of time there.  At first K would not even take her shoes off in the sand, she now runs out and jumps right in to play.  We have a blast and come home very tired, usually at least 3 kids have breakdowns but that is just the norm around here.  As the weather warms up we get to spend much more time outside and it makes it much easier for both moms.

best buds

this is O and his best bud Luke, they get along really well most times (except when they both want the same sand shovel).  Luke wants to be a construction worker so bad, he wears his hard hat (from my dad) everywhere he goes, even the beach.  We are so lucky to have met such great friends here in VA and will be very sad to leave them when we move to TX.
